    Spring Season Update 3.31.20

On behalf of the entire GHLL Board of Directors, we hope this message finds you and your families healthy and well during this challenging time.  We just wanted to provide an update on a couple items.

First, our Board continues to monitor guidance from Little League, local, state, and federal authorities, but the spring season remains suspended until further notice.  The Board has had preliminary discussions related to th e  finances and mechanics of refunds if we are unable to play a shortened season. Our intent is to be fully transparent and, as such, we need to get a handle on all expenses incurred so far  (uniforms, pictures, opening day, etc) and also need to recoup money outlaid for various league related matters (umpire fee advancements, LL fees, etc). We unfortunately don’t expect to have that clarity until May 1st at the very earliest.

Second, our league has received a full refund on the monies we advanced for Angel Day on behalf of GHLL families.  Because we never cashed any of the checks received for that event, we will simply destroy them.

Finally, we continue to encourage you to continue to share your experiences with us using the #staygoldenghll tag.  Parents and kids are enjoying sharing the pictures and videos submitted and it is important that we remain socially connected, even as we remain socially distanced.

Thank you for your continued support and best wishes for continued good health!

    Suspended Season FAQs

Golden Hill Little League leadership has chosen an indefinite suspension to coincide with relevant guidance and to allow our community to focus on more pressing matters than youth baseball. We will continue to assess additional guidance on the impact of delaying the season. When there is clarity about when or how we may be able to resume our season, we will be back in touch to update you.

In the meantime, we have developed a series of FAQs below that relate to open matters you may be seeking information on.  The theme of these FAQ's is that parents should focus on keeping their families safe and healthy during this period and that you should NOT be focused on administrative issues related to our suspended season.

Please do NOT engage in any further fundraising activities.  Like our season, the deadline for fundraising has been suspended.
If you are holding on to fundraiser money and would like to submit it, we would ask that you mail it to: GHLL, P.O. Box 5345, Fullerton, CA 92838.  To ensure that the funds are recorded properly, please indicate the team in the "memo" section of your check.  Please do NOT send cash.
But again, we are NOT asking that you engage in any fundraising activity, nor are we asking that you make any efforts to send in monies at this time.
    Registration Fees
Our leadership, at the direction of Little League International, is reviewing our finances, including costs associated with this season, contract obligations, and other factors.  Any actions the Board might take regarding a final disposition on this current season will be carefully considered and, per our charter, approved by Little League International.
As with the season, the deadline for submitting yearbook-related information is also suspended.  Please do not worry about submitting this information.
Again, with the season suspended we do not need to have Team Parents collect names for trophies at this point.
    Managers & Coaches :
As stated quite clearly in our email to managers the other day, this suspension includes ALL GHLL-related activities from practices to individual instruction to pizza parties.  There are to be NO GHLL-team-related activities occurring until further notice.
    Angel Day
Our league has received a full refund on the monies we advanced for Angel Day on behalf of GHLL families.  Because we never cashed any of the checks received for that event, we will simply destroy them.
    Titan Night
Due to the cancellation of the CSUF Baseball season, this event has also been cancelled.
    Umpire Fees
With the season suspended, Managers have been contacted to request return of remaining umpire fees that were advanced to them.  Should the season resume, the league will provide further direction at that time as to how umpire fees will be handled.
    All Stars & Postseason
Currently, Little League International is working through all possible scenarios for the 2020 Little League International Tournament and tournament eligibility for our leagues and players in our various divisions of play, should we be able to resume.
